The Czech Darts Open is due to take place between 4-6 September 2026. It will be the twelfth of fifteen PDC European Tour events. It features a field of 48 players and £230,000 in prize money, with £35,000 going to the winner.
The field is headlined by Luke Littler who finally makes his European Tour return after many months away and he is joined by the king of Prague, Luke Humphries who has won three out of the last four editions and is looking for three in a row. He has ruled the roost in the Czech city every year. But can his main rival thwart him as he often does.
A stacked field assembled too with Gian van Veen, Michael van Gerwen, Jonny Clayton, Gerwyn Price, Gary Anderson (who will play after enjoying his return in Budapest), Budapest winner Ross Smith among others are involved.
As is Beau Greaves for the second week running who was only halted by Rob Cross in her European Tour debut and averaged 104 in defeat. She returns to the big stage as a name no-one will draw. Starting in 2019 albeit it has only been a constant since 2022, the Czech Darts Open is a staple of the European Tour and ahead of a busy autumn season, is one to look forward to.
Sunday Czech Darts Open 2026 Preview
Eight players remain in contention for the title at the Czech Darts Open in Prague. The tournament will reach its conclusion on Sunday evening, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final all taking place in succession. In the first quarter-final, Gerwyn Price takes on Ross Smith, the winner of last week’s Euro Tour event in Hungary.
William O’Connor will then take to the stage after surprisingly overcoming Josh Rock in the third round. However, the Irishman faces another tough task, with Luke Humphries awaiting him. Humphries has won the last two editions of the Czech Darts Open.
Michael van Gerwen features in the third quarter-final. Following his impressive victory over Wessel Nijman, the Dutchman faces Jonny Clayton, who defeated Keane Barry 6-4. Danny Noppert, meanwhile, takes on Luke Littler after his miraculous comeback victory over Luke Woodhouse. ‘The Freeze’ found himself 4-0 down against Woodhouse but fought back to win 6-5. Littler also came from behind, overturning a 3-1 deficit against Krzysztof Ratajski to claim a 6-3 victory.

When is the draw confirmed for Czech Darts Open?
The draw will be confirmed albeit was different for the Hungarian Darts Trophy usually on the Thursday before the event starts at around 12 BST/1 CET.
Luke Humphries has been the king of Prague for many a year.
When is the schedule confirmed for Czech Darts Open?
The schedule will be confirmed after the draw is set albeit it tends to follow the same format throughout each event. The ProTour players face the qualifiers on the Friday. This is followed by the top 16 facing the winner on Saturday. From Quarter-Finals onwards, the schedule mirrors the bracket with winners facing each other.

Predictions Czech Darts Open 2026
Samuel Gill, Head Editor for DartsNews.com has picked Gary Anderson to win it this weekend.
I don't see Luke Littler winning it this weekend and I see him being tripped up early by a middle of the road name such as Ross Smith later on in the tournament. I see him having another good weekend.
While I also see Michael van Gerwen challenging well after being ill recently, same with Luke Humphries and also Nathan Aspinall. But I pick Gary Anderson to go all the way and complete a smash and grab on the European Tour meaning he qualifies for Dortmund.

The latest European Tour event is being held in Prague with the Czech Darts Open another chance to see the top players compete on the big stage, and this time it is absolutely stacked.
Luke Littler will compete in his third European Tour event of the year, and a third time in the Czech Republic with this the latest country he is gunning for success in. He is the overwhelming favourite for glory, but despite what many say he is most certainly not unbeatable, and that was showcased at the recent ProTour events.
A mouth-watering second round clash between Luke Humphries and Beau Greaves is on the cards. If ‘Cool Hand Luke’ is able to come through his opening tests, I can see him getting in his rhythm with possibly only Littler able to halt him. However, his inconsistency is concerning with it again being highlighted in Budapest. His form in Prague is also immaculate having won the title three times, including the last two editions.
I cannot see Dutch duo Gian van Veen or Michael van Gerwen challenging for the title, although they are very much capable of it. Gary Anderson is either hot or cold but proved to be able to grind through matches last week, a key trait that could serve him well as he attempts a late dash for the European Championship. Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Nathan Aspinall and an inform Ross Smith will all be contenders.
Also, a special mention to Greaves who has played one match on the European Tour and averaged over 104. She does that a few more times then she is very much among the title favourites.
At the end of the day, it is hard to look past Littler. I doubt he will average over 109 in every match like he did in Blackpool, but I believe he will replicate his run in Krakow and clinch the title, maybe even throwing a nine-darter in there as well.

Prague marks the return of Luke Littler to the European Tour, and that immediately makes him the overwhelming favourite to lift the title. The world champion has been selective with his schedule this season, but victory in the Czech capital would be particularly valuable. It would effectively secure his place at the European Championship and potentially give him the option of skipping some of the remaining European Tour events if he wishes.
His biggest challenger is likely to be his namesake Luke Humphries. ‘Cool Hand’ has an outstanding record at the Czech Darts Open, having lifted the trophy three times in the past four editions. It is fair to say that this is a tournament that suits him perfectly, and I would not be surprised to see another Luke-versus-Luke final this weekend.
But who could spoil the party? Nathan Aspinall and Gary Anderson both showed encouraging form in Hungary recently, with Anderson in particular still having plenty to play for. Another deep run would almost certainly see the Scot secure his European Championship qualification in the space of just two weekends. Gerwyn Price is another player I would always include among the leading contenders, while for some reason I also have high expectations of Josh Rock in Prague.
As for the Dutch contingent, it is difficult to be overly optimistic. Michael van Gerwen disappointed again in Hungary last weekend, although it later emerged that he had reportedly been suffering from illness. Gian van Veen, meanwhile, has remained too inconsistent since dealing with kidney stones earlier this year. Wessel Nijman certainly has the ability to make a deep run, but he also fell short of expectations last weekend. Unfortunately from a Dutch perspective, I therefore do not expect to see a Netherlands winner crowned in Prague this weekend.

There is an exceptionally strong field for this weekend's Czech Darts Open. It has been quite some time since so many of the world's best players have competed at the same European Tour event. We have now reached the twelfth European Tour tournament of 2026, and remarkably, it will only be Littler's third appearance on the circuit this season.
Given all the titles 'The Nuke' has already won this year, it is impossible to look past Littler as one of the favourites to take the title. The two-time world champion will face stiff competition from the likes of Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price, who have also collected their fair share of silverware this season.
One of the outsiders to watch is Ross Smith, who has already won four titles this year. Nathan Aspinall should not be discounted either given his results on the European Tour over the past two years, while plenty can also be expected from Gary Anderson. The Scot reached the final in Budapest last week, and he managed to do so without even producing his best darts.

- I loved Jan and loved his walk on music "Explode" by Jordan & Baker. I think if he stuck around the BDO he definitely would have been World Champion, should have won in 2014, he never really showed any of his talent in the PDC. I remembered he worked in a bank or in finance and maybe that was his priority, he was also a fan and interested in magic. Definitely should have achieved much more in darts than he did.
