The Australian comfortably led the averages chart from the event, although his run would end in the following round after a 6-4 defeat to eventual finalist Max Hopp.
Joe Cullen recorded the second-highest average of the tournament with a 108.34 in his convincing 6-1 win over compatriot Adam Lipscombe in the last 32. Cullen would eventually see his run ended in the last 16 after a 6-4 defeat against eventual champion Wessel Nijman.
Just behind Cullen came Cristo Reyes. The Spaniard, who regained his PDC Tour Card earlier this year, averaged 108.06 during a 6-1 opening round victory against Sebastian Bialecki before later losing a deciding-leg clash to James Hurrell.

Van Duijvenbode and Greaves among standout performers

Dirk van Duijvenbode also featured prominently near the top of the averages standings once again. The Dutchman averaged 106.82 in his opening round win over former WDF world champion Shane McGuirk and eventually reached the last 16, where he lost heavily to compatriot Danny Noppert.
There were also strong displays from the likes of Chris Dobey, Rob Cross and Michael van Gerwen among others, all of whom posted ton-plus averages during the tournament.

Another notable name high on the list was Beau Greaves. The Englishwoman produced a 103.41 average during another impressive ProTour showing as she continued to underline her growing consistency at this level.
Although he did not top the averages standings, Nijman still ended the tournament with the title, beating Hopp 8-1 in the final to secure a remarkable fifth Players Championship crown of the season and further strengthen his position at the top end of the Pro Tour Order of Merit.
