The PDC has released a new alternative world rankings. In it, unlike the official world rankings, only the last 200 legs played by each Tour Card holder are taken into account.
In first place of these alternative world rankings is, perhaps somewhat surprisingly,
Damon Heta. The 37-year-old Australian, ninth in the official world rankings, achieved an average of 100.35 and 47.26% on his doubles in his last 200 legs played. Still, we will have to miss 'The Heat' at the upcoming Grand Slam of Darts after he failed to qualify through the qualifying tournament.
Besides Heta, there is only one other player with a 100+ average and that is
Gary Anderson. The 53-year-old Scot has been piling up high averages all year, averaging 100.05 and 37.66% on his doubles over the last 200 legs. Anderson is currently 20th in the official world rankings. He will be there at the Grand Slam of Darts, which kicks off Saturday in Wolverhampton.
Completing the top three is the number one on the official world rankings,
Luke Humphries. 'Cool Hand Luke' averaged 99.50 and 42.79% on his doubles during his last 200 legs. Humphries is going for another major title at the Grand Slam of Darts, after winning as the World Darts Championship, the World Matchplay and the World Cup of Darts earlier this year.
Just outside the top 4, we find the Wessel Nijman. Nijman, who has been going strong all year, recently won his first PDC ranking title and averaged 97.98 and 40.64% on his doubles during his last 200 legs. The 24-year-old darter is currently 62nd in the official world rankings and will be one of the players to look out for at the Grand Slam of Darts.
