José de Sousa has become one of the best players in the world in just two years. The Portuguese is a real late bloomer.
De Sousa conquered a PDC Tour Card in early 2019 for the first time in his career. "Before that I was mainly active in soft tip darts. I live in Spain and here that is much more popular than steel tip darts," said De Sousa on the Not So Late Night Darts Show.

"Actually, it's because of Raymond van Barneveld that I switched to steel tip darts. I saw him on television playing against other top players and then I realised I wanted to be there too. Then I started training really hard and that has brought me to where I am now", concludes the 47-year-old Portuguese.
