Gerwyn Price was asked whether too much is being asked of darts players now with tournaments consistently all over the season and 'The Iceman' said that it is a catch 22 with fans wanting to see the big names but also they can't always play everything.
A debate which has been brought on perhaps by Luke Humphries interview which stirred a polarising response about wanting a break. Price was a guest on talkSPORT with Jim White, Simon Jordan and Danny Murphy.
He was asked about the schedule and said that in his view there are way too many events. He cited Graz as an example where it is also unfair on the fans as most of the top eight snubbed the tournament meaning that fans there don't get to see the big stars.

In a moment where darts is booming, a player like Price is in demand and when wanting players at their best, 'The Iceman' said it isn't always possible to achieve when they spend a lot of time playing and hardly off the road.
"I definitely think there's way too many events and I understand the PDC have a product that they want to improve and keep expanding. But as far as a player like myself and the likes of Luke Humphries, Luke Littler and the boys in the Premier League, World Series and are in practically everything it is quite tough," he said on talkSPORT.
"They do say that you can manage your schedule and miss tournaments here and there. But if you do miss a tournament and you don't pick up any ranking points if you're not there and then when you do go, you put yourself under that added pressure. So it is a little bit hectic at the minute.
"I missed out on ProTours this week, I'm going to miss out on a couple of Europeans in Germany but it puts me under pressure at the back end of the year."
"There's been two or three European Tours now especially like out in Graz in Austria where the top 7 out of the top eight didn't enter so is it fair to the fans that have bought tickets there. We are told we need to manage our schedule and if we do miss events like that where people have bought their tickets in advance and then they're not getting to see the players they support. We need to turn up and we need to manage our schedule but the PDC also need to think it's not just about us. It's the fans and they need to see the players at their best as well."
