Dekker defeats Telnekes in thrilling last leg decider to claim 2020 PDC World Championship spot

Jan Dekker will be back at the PDC World Championship in December having come through the West Europe Qualifier defeating Derk Telnekes.

Telnekes was looking good to make his debut at the Alexandra Palace; but he missed three match darts at 5-4 up, this lead to Dekker taking out a 117 checkout.

In the decider Dekker hit two 180's in the decider; before claiming a victory with an 11 darter. Supposedly as well Telnekes wasn't showing great sportsmanship; after the defeat as the player mainly known for his exploits in the BDO lost out late on against 'Double Dekker'.

It will be a fourth appearance in the PDC World Championship, last year he defeated Lisa Ashton in the first round in one of the most memorable matches of the first round; before losing out in a closely ran tie against Mervyn King.

There is also the South/Western Europe Qualifier taking place today; which includes Spanish, Gibraltarian and Portuguese representation including Toni Alcinas and Jesus Noguera.

Quarter-Finals
Jeffrey de Graaf 6-2 Jerry Hendriks
Jan Dekker 6-4 Geert Nentjes

Derk Telnekes 6-4 Wesley Plaisier

Semi-Finals
