Two-time world champion
Dennis Priestley conducted the draw for the 2024
PDC World Darts Championship alongside his old rival, Phil Taylor. There's one man 'the Menace' is especially excited to watch.
Priestley, who won the inaugural PDC World Championship in 1994, is keenly looking forward to seeing
Luke Littler in action. The 16-year-old wonderkid will meet Christian Kist in the first round.
''The youngster I'm really looking forward to watching is Luke Littler,'' the 73-year-old Englishman said in conversation with OLBG. ''I definitely think this lad can hit the heights of your MvG's, Price's and Jonny Clayton's in the future."
''Luke has a great future ahead of him and he's only 16. I've been really impressed with him. I'll be looking out for his first game more than any other in the first and second round. I'm not expecting him to win the tournament, but I do expect him to do well and I'm sure we'll see a lot more of him."
Another talent Priestley thinks highly of is
Beau Greaves. However, the 19-year-old Englishwoman is not competing in the World Darts Championship because she preferred to compete at Lakeside.
Priestley does understand that decision. ''Beau Greaves has made the right choice to miss the World Championships. I think she'll win the WDF tournament. There's a lot of debate surrounding
Fallon Sherrock and Beau Greaves lately but I think Beau is a much better all-round player than Fallon. Fallon Sherrock will be at the Ally Pally, but her first match is against Jermaine Wattimena and he's no mug so it'll be tough for Fallon to reach the second round. It wouldn't be a surprise if she won her first match, but it'll be tough."
