Dimitri van den Bergh is the only big name seed to remain unscathed at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship on Sunday evening after easing past Dylan 'Oceans' Slevin in a 3-0 sets win.
A night that has seen Martin Schindler, Ross Smith and Gary Anderson all fall, many would've thought perhaps Van den Bergh who aside from a UK Open win this year has had a pretty indifferent 2024 would follow.
But it was the usual late night Van den Bergh show as he scored well with six 180's, a 96 average and a high checkout of 117. While Slevin continued to get more and more frustrated with himself as he lost out to 'The Dreammaker'. He now faces Callan Rydz in Round Three.

It was a confident start from Van den Bergh as he pinned a 117 checkout in the deciding leg to secure the opening set with 75% on the doubles as he edged the key moments against the Irishman.
It continued to be that way. He went 2-1 down against Slevin in the next set but he managed to claw it back. He held for 2-2 and broke as Slevin couldn't hit 152 and he pinned 58 to seal the second set.
Van den Bergh opened the third set with double eight to make it 1-0. Slevin sent it to a decider with a 94 checkout but was getting more annoyed with every passing visit as Van den Bergh's cool demeanour brought him closer to the finish.
Slevin hit 140 from 156 to leave double eight if he was allowed to return but he wasn't as a 13-darter on double 20 sealed the win for Van den Bergh who now moves on. A night of shocks but for Van den Bergh, it is business as usual after a poor few months.
