Chris Dobey dumped out Gary Anderson to reach the World Grand Prix Quarter-Finals and as a result he has reached a third last eight on TV.

Dobey lost the first set with Anderson defying a brilliant 134 checkout from 'Hollywood' to win 3-2 but the Bedlington ace levelled proceedings winning the third without reply and then winning the final one 3-1 without reply.

He spoke afterwards and said that he knew he had the game to claim the victory as well as that it is one of his best performances on stage.

Like others though, he admitted that he isn't there to make the numbers up and that he is in it to win it.

"I think my overall performance was pretty good and I'm delighted to have won," said Dobey. "I knew I had the game to beat Gary and I had to keep my cool, and it's up there with my best performances on stage.

"It means a lot to me. This is a great competition to be in and I like the double-start format - I think it suits my game. I'm not here to make the numbers up, I'm in it to win it but I'm not going to look any further forward than the next game."
