Stephen Bunting has made an excellent start to the new season. After already being the best at the Bahrain Darts Masters a week and a half ago, he only had to lose to Rob Cross in the final of the Dutch Darts Masters.
Bunting already started the new year extremely well with a place in the semifinals of the World Darts Championship. He then kicked off the new season with a bang by winning the Bahrain Darts Masters. In the final in Sakhir he was too strong for Gerwyn Price.
Last weekend, Bunting also seemed to win the second tournament of the World Series of Darts 2025. However, in the final of the Dutch Darts Masters, he came up against a particularly strong Cross, who prevailed 8-5.
Superstition
If Bunting is superstitious, the stars are already aligning favorably for more success this year. After all, last year Luke Littler followed the same course in the first two tournaments of the World Series of Darts. In Bahrain he won, in Den Bosch he, like Bunting, stranded in the final.
Later that year Littler won the Premier League Darts, can Bunting pull off the same trick? Rendezvous at the end of May when London's O2 Arena hosts the final.
