Wattimena mounted a late comeback after Dolan fluffed his lines after going 7-3 up and then he missed a match dart which allowed 'Machine Gun' to go 7-5 behind.
As a result it gave a nervy ending for 'The History Maker' and this was the case all the way till the end with him having to hit a 108 checkout to claim the victory.
He did to deny Wattimena a first title once again, the Dutchman will be bitterly disappointed knowing that he probably had his best opportunity yet to add a ranking title but has continued to show his consistency on the floor.
It is Dolan though who joins Krzysztof Ratajski as one of two winners in Hildesheim and himself becomes yet another new winner for 2019 on the Players Championship series, showing how wide open the ProTour is.
