After a five year drought before this season, Brendan Dolan has claimed a second PDC ranking title of the year at Players Championship 29 in Barnsley.
Dolan saw off Ian White in an 8-6 win but went a whisker away from potentially being forced into a last leg shootout by 'Diamond'. He missed multiple match darts but pinned double six for jubilation.
'The History Maker' has had a few years in the darting doldrums since his initial success but has shot himself back into contention with two titles in a matter of months. Today's victory included wins over
record breaker Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price amongst others.
For White it's another missed opportunity to claim a first PDC title of the year but the fact that he is constantly in finals shows how imperious he is in the Players Championship tournaments.
With the final tournament being tomorrow, a lot of scores will settled in terms of Tour Cards,
Players Championship Finals spots and even for the likes of White, finally getting over the line. It is going to be a thrilling one that is for sure.
