Dimitri van den Bergh has sealed the
Dutch Darts Masters and as a result back-to-back
World Series of Darts titles after a thumping 8-2 win over Dirk van Duijvenbode.
The final day at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam started with no fewer than six Dutchmen in the last eight. Only Van Duijvenbode and Danny Noppert managed to get through to the last four but it was one of the two PDC invitees who sealed the title in the end after winning the Nordic Darts Masters earlier this month.
Van den Bergh had a dream start to the final. He opened the match with a 14-darter and then broke his Dutch opponent with a 13-darter. Via double 16 it became 3-0 and then he again managed to break 'Aubergenius' by finishing 72.
Van Duijvenbode could have been 5-0 behind then, but his Belgian opponent missed four darts on the double. Via double 9 the Dutchman finally managed to get on the scoreboard.
But this was a consolation as after the break, Van Duijvenbode only managed to add one more leg with Van den Bergh closing it out with a 14-darter.
