The 2026 European Darts Trophy delivered fireworks, as reflected by the impressive averages thrown during the tournament. Strikingly, the list of highest averages is heavily dominated by Dutch players, with several surpassing the magical 100 mark.

Impressive Doets

The highest average of the European Darts Trophy was posted by Kevin Doets. The Dutchman recorded a phenomenal 117.12 average, a figure rarely reached even at the highest level. With this display, Doets showed he is in outstanding form and capable of competing with the absolute elite. Doets eventually lost 6-3 to Damon Heta in the third round.
Wessel Nijman also made a big impression during the tournament. The young Dutchman appears no fewer than four times in the list of top averages. His best was 112.87, followed by 110.41, 106.05 and 100.80. Nijman underlined not only his scoring power but also his growing consistency on the big stage. Nijman claimed his very first title on the PDC European Tour at the European Darts Trophy.
Michael van Gerwen also features in the top five averages at the European Darts Trophy. Even so, his 107 average was not enough to beat Niels Zonneveld (who averaged 104.46 in that match) in the second round.
Gerwyn Price delivered a strong showing as well. The Welshman produced a match with a 106.70 average, comfortably clearing the 100 barrier. Price is known for his intensity and scoring power, and that was once again evident at this event. Price eventually lost 8-3 to Nijman in the final.
The list is rounded out by Damon Heta. The Australian produced a 101.42 average in one of his matches, earning his place among the three-figure displays. Heta reached the semi-finals at the European Darts Trophy, where he went down 7-5 to Price.

What stands out most is the strong Dutch representation in these stats. With Doets, Nijman, Van Gerwen and Zonneveld, Dutch players account for the majority of the top performances. It once again highlights the current strength of the Dutch influence in international darts.
The high averages also show that the standard at the European Darts Trophy was exceptionally high. For fans, that produced a series of spectacular matches, with heavy scoring and clinical checkouts coming in quick succession.
The European Tour continues this coming weekend, with the Belgian Darts Open on the schedule in Wieze. Luke Littler enters as defending champion after beating Mike De Decker 8-5 in last year’s final.
