In Sindelfingen, Germany, the fifth tournament of the 2026 European Tour took place last weekend. The title at the European Darts Grand Prix went to Gerwyn Price, who proved too strong for Ross Smith in the final with an 8-6 win.

Wessel Nijman, who won the European Darts Trophy earlier this year, reached the semi-finals in Sindelfingen, where he lost 7-4 to Price. Nijman leads the European Tour Order of Merit. The 25-year-old Dutchman has already banked £53,000 this year.
That gives him a £3,000 lead over second-placed Price, who cashed in with his victory last weekend. Price jumps ahead of Nathan Aspinall, now third and £5,000 behind Nijman.
The top five is completed by the world’s top two. Littler, who did not compete in Germany last weekend, currently sits fifth on the European Tour Order of Merit. Humphries, who also skipped the European Darts Grand Prix, is currently fourth. Humphries led coming into this weekend
Price in winning though went from 17th to second with £15,000 compared to now £50,000. Nathan Aspinall also despite not rising added £8,000 to his total. Ross Smith in reaching the final and losing to Price also moved from 11th to seventh.

Krzysztof Ratajski also rose from 13th to 11th. While Niels Zonneveld who has been one of the real stars of the European Tour this year going out early has had a knock on effect as he goes down to ninth. Chris Dobey goes from 8th to 10th while Michael Smith is down to 13th from 10th. Michael van Gerwen is also now 18th up from 27th despite a pretty abject loss to Wessel Nijman.
Gian van Veen obviously needs some time to regroup that he is not getting due to the Premier League and he sits now in 20th down from 12th and with only the top 32 qualifying, further poor results could spell disaster for the defending champion.

Big names outside the top 32

Several big names currently outside the top 32 are James Wade (52nd), Mike De Decker (67th), and Rob Cross (83rd). Gary Anderson does not even feature on the European Tour Order of Merit. The 55-year-old Scot, the defending champion, crashed out in the first round at the European Darts Grand Prix last weekend. It was his first European Tour event of the year.
The European Tour now takes a short break and resumes on the weekend of 08/05/2026, 09/05/2026, and 10/05/2026, when the Austrian Darts Open takes place in Graz. Martin Schindler will start that event as the defending champion after beating Ross Smith 8-4 in last year’s final.
