The second round has began at the Austrian Darts Open with some shocks and some superb displays so far in Graz to begin Saturday's action.
Ricky Evans as usual was the fans' favourite heading into his tie with Damon Heta and pulled off a shock win dumping out the in-form Aussie ace in a 6-3 victory.
In doing so, he hit a 91 average and 40% on the doubles with only a sole 180 throughout the contest as Heta's downfall came on his usual rock solid doubling with 3/12.
Prior to that, there was no second wind for the home hope for Patrik Gosnak who was dumped out by a terrific display from Krzysztof Ratajski.
Gosnak yesterday saw off Ian White but was whitewashed by 'The Polish Eagle' who produced a 101.3 average in the process on his return to the stage and it was a fruitful one.
The same can be said for Nathan Aspinall with 'The Asp' edging past in-form Dutch qualifier, Wesley Plaisier who reached the Quarter-Finals last week in Munich.
This in a 6-3 victory for Aspinall who produced 60% on the doubles and despite the injury, he keeps producing superb displays.
