During the Dutch Masters in 2019, Evans wore a mask during his walk-on which went viral as a result and he explained about that in an interview with RTL Nieuws.

"My dad collects masks, objects and accessories from famous people. When he comes across something on eBay, such as a famous singer or politician, he buys it. We now have a box full of such masks," said Evans.

He spoke about his influences to do this and it comes from his father. 'Rapid' also revealed that his collection shows no sign of relenting: "I am exactly like my father. We have the same character and want to increase our collection. Famous footballers or even famous darts players, that would be really cool.''

He also spoke about potentially coming on stage with a Phil Taylor mask and whether he would do it: "If the PDC allows me to do that and I don't get fined for it, I will.''
