A new Aussie name is now on the radar of many darts fans. Brody Klinge was tremendous in the Australian Darts Masters as he defied the odds to reach the final before James Wade managed to take him down. He will be hoping that it is the start of something special as he commits to taking that next step in the sport.

Klinge was the only challenger to make it through the opening round. After losing at the first hurdle in 2025 against Stephen Bunting 6-1, he managed to reverse those roles against Ross Smith in a brilliant win in which Smudger missed two match darts.
It was not fortune, but skill to take down the world number two Gian van Veen in the quarter-finals in a 6-4 win before completing a 7-4 victory over the New Zealand Darts Masters winner Jonny Clayton with the Big Fish.
This confirmed his place in the final, being the first Oceanic qualifier since Damon Heta in 2019 to feature in a World Series of Darts final. The dream could not be completed despite mustering up a 104.56 average Wade, with 'The Machine' in stunning form as he upset the partisan crowd with an 8-5 win to take home the title.
Overall, Klinge averaged 100.27 across the four matches played. These high calibre performances have most certainly caught the eye of many as he follows in the footsteps of Heta, Corey Cadby and Kyle Anderson in being Oceanic representatives to reach a World Series final against the odds.

Klinge to take 'every opportunity' that comes his way

It was a dream tournament for Klinge who prevailed against some of the best players in the world in fine fashion. He reacted extremely positive to this and thanked the passionate support for backing him all the way.

He then promised to 'take every opportunity' from this point as his darts career gets a huge boost. “I cannot believe I got here. It’s been unreal. I don’t really know what to say. Every opportunity that comes my way I’m going to take it. I’m going to keep playing and see what happens.”
Klinge has now confirmed his spot in the World Series of Darts Finals thanks to his brilliance portrayed on the oche in Wollongong. The 34-year-old will travel to the Dutch capital to compete in the event along with some of the best players in the world from September 17-20.

He may be making another trip to Europe, specifically North London with him very much in contention to secure a spot in the PDC World Darts Championship via the 2026 ADA rankings. After racking up eight titles, a debut at Ally Pally is looking very likely and possibly set to be another huge chance on the big stage to show his worth and be the next Aussie talent to turn heads in darts.
