Fallon Sherrock will face off against Beau Greaves in the final of the 2024 Women's World Matchplay at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool after seeing off the challenge of Lisa Ashton in the semi-finals 5-4.
With Sherrock having comfortably defeated the returning Anastasia Dobromyslova 4-0 in her quarter-final and Ashton having eased past Rhian O'Sullivan in her last 8 tie, both players would have been full of confidence heading into this tie.

It was Ashton who had the throw in the opening leg and after Sherrock blew a number of darts for an early break, 'The Lancashire Rose' punished with a 100 checkout to take a scrappy hold. In the second leg, Sherrock was again the heavier scorer, but more missed darts at double again saw her unable to profit, with Ashton moving two clear.
Ashton's early reliability on the outer ring continues in the next leg as he went three from three on the doubles to stretch further clear. Finally, in leg 4, with her 10th dart at double in the match, Sherrock got herself up and running. Unfazed though, Ashton started the next leg with five perfect darts but with double trouble moving to the former world champion's side, the Lancashire Rose missed 8 darts allowing Sherrock to get back within one at 3-2 behind and with a brilliant 129 in leg 6, suddenly it was all level again.
Both players saw chances come and go in leg 7 before Ashton held throw on double 2 to nudge back in front. With yet more missed double drama in leg 8, Sherrock missed eight darts to force a decider. Ashton though, missed six for the match and with both women on double 1, Sherrock eventually took it to send the match the distance. Ashton had the darts and was the first to get another shot but missed tops for a 115. Sherrock did not fail on her chance to seal the 5-4 win.
