Jermaine Wattimena has ended the World Darts Championship hopes of Fallon Sherrock, fighting back from a set behind to win 3-1 and set up a second round tie with Martin Schindler.

Four years to the day since her ground-breaking triumph over Ted Evetts, Sherrock seemed in the mood to cause more sensation. After the first four legs went with throw, the 'Queen of the Palace' broke in the deciding leg to take an early lead and send the Ally Pally crowd into an uproar.

in set 2 though, Sherrock's levels had dropped ever so slightly, opening to door for Wattimena who took his chance. The Dutchman winning the set 3-1 to level up the match and get the game back on throw.

Wattimena kept the momentum going to start the third set with a comfortable hold of throw. Sherrock meanwhile continued to drop off and despite some dodgy doubling, Wattimena swept through the third 3-0 to move just one away from the win.

With Sherrock making a hash of the of a 60 finish to start the fourth set positively, Wattimena punished again. After Wattimena wired double 16 for a 105, Sherrock pinned tops for a much needed leg. Sherrock held throw in the next leg and the momentum seemed to have switched right back around. With Sherrock throwing for double 8 for the set however, she slipped into the single 16 and busted. Wattimena punished phenomenally with a ruthless 110 to move within one leg. After Wattimena missed four for the match, Sherrock had a chance to level up but squandered two for the set allowing the Dutchman to return, nail double 5 and take the win.

This Fallon Sherrock ass kissing movement is getting way out of hand. Yeah she's the face of women's darts which I respect fully but the fawning over her by the commentators and pundits is becoming nauseating. The fact is, apart from her 3rd round appearance a few years ago, she's done nothing at the worlds. And didn't deserve jack shit from her game against Wattimena last night but everyone was too busy crawling up her backside to admit it.

I wish SKY showed more respect and equality towards both players like ITV do. It was Fallon this and Fallon that and a special prematch interview with Fallon, Jermaine was barely mentioned. It would be nice to hear from all the players especially the qualifiers and their journey to the World Championships. Incidentally, what the hell was Laura Turner wearing last night, it looked like a prisoners jump suit, usually she looks well presented and very good.

Yep! I have not seen such bias for a player like Fallon Sherrock in my 40 years of being a Darts fan, Ritchie. I know this sounds a little rough... but part of me is glad that she is out of the tournament, it has nothing to do with hate - as it is the PDC who have become quite verbose in mentioning her in almost every sentence. The PDC has fast become an organisation that I find difficult to take seriously.
