Field confirmed for 2021 Gibraltar Darts Trophy as European Tour concludes

The European Tour is set to conclude for 2021 with the return of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy this weekend with a truncated tour once more ahead of the European Championship.

The field consists of 48 players and with the short nature of this season on the European Tour, places will be up for grabs for most players involved this weekend.

Same as the first event in the Hungarian Darts Trophy, Joe Cullen as top seed for ProTour tournaments ahead of Jose de Sousa will lead off the field ahead of Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price with the seeded players completed once more by Mensur Suljovic and Nathan Aspinall. Defending champion from two years ago is Krzysztof Ratajski who is tenth seed for the tournament.

Tour Card qualifiers were completed a while ago at PDC Super Series with the likes of Luke Humphries, Ryan Searle, Rob Cross, Steve Beaton, John Henderson, Simon Whitlock and Stephen Bunting set to take to the oche.

Alongside Associate Qualifiers in Adam Smith-Neale and Kenny Neyens who qualified through a separate qualifier based off the Challenge Tour. Andreas Harrysson hosts PDC Nordic and Baltic hopes while Patrik Kovacs takes his place as Eastern European qualifier.

A Host Nation qualifier will be completed on September 23 which will complete the field and see four players make it through.
