The next European Tour event is set to take place this upcoming weekend with the European Darts Matchplay in Mannheim, the eleventh of thirteen events on the calendar.
Now the field has been all but confirmed for the event which was won last year by Michael van Gerwen who defeated William O'Connor. 'Mighty Mike' is back to defend his title on the back of another final appearance this past weekend.
O'Connor is also back but as a UK Qualifier among the line-up. Rob Cross, James Wade and Glen Durrant will make their return to
European Tour action as well having sat out Vienna.
Jamie Hughes, Mark McGeeney, Simon Whitlock and Michael Smith are among the UK Qualifiers. The European Qualifiers feature the likes of Jeffrey de Zwaan and Max Hopp.
The Host Nation and West/South European Qualifier will be confirmed before the start of play on Friday with six places available.
