The Oktoberhallen will host the 2024 Belgian Darts Open from March 8 to 10. This tournament is listed as the first Euro Tour tournament of the season.
Last year's event was won by Michael van Gerwen, who was too strong for Luke Humphries in the final 8-6. Both players are back in action at the Belgian Darts Open. Van Gerwen is one of no less than nine Dutchmen competing in Wieze.
Van Gerwen is among the seeded players with Dave Chisnall, Luke Humphries and Michael Smith among others also involved.
Belgian fans in Wieze will get to see six compatriots. Dimitri van den Bergh and Mike de Decker are among the Belgian participants. Added to that are four Belgian winners from the Host Nation Qualifier. This qualifying tournament will be played on Thursday, March 7.
This Euro Tour tournament is the first under the new Euro Tour rules. Besides the top-16 of the Pro Tour rankings, the top-16 of the world rankings are also invited. Completing the field of participants are sixteen winners from various qualifying tournaments. The qualification winners and the sixteen players who qualified through the world rankings will be randomly paired together in the draw for the first round. The sixteen winners of the first round will each meet a top-16 seeded player in the second round.
