The Flanders Darts Trophy is due to take place between August 29-31 which is the 10th of 14th events on the European Tour this season. The tournament will take place at the Antwerp Expo in Antwerp.
It will feature a field of 48 players and £175,000 in prize money. £30,000 goes to the winner. Dave Chisnall is the defending champion having defeated Ricardo Pietreczko last year 8-6 in the 2024 final. That was the debut for the event. Last time out the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze meant it was the first year that two events had taken place in Belgium on one European Tour cycle.
Luke Littler makes his long awaited return to European Tour action after many months out and not playing in Germany in particular. He is joined in a stacked field by Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen.

Predictions

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for DartsNews.com sees a differing outcome to most and that is one that chimes with the European Tour.
Seem to do this every prediction time but I see Martin Schindler turning up with another European Tour. Either him or Josh Rock firing their way to victory.
Despite not being in Germany, Schindler has become the European Tour king and it is hard to ignore him. It's either early exit or late run so I'm going for the latter. Gerwyn Price I also see as being capable while I'm also intrigued as to the current form of Michael van Gerwen.
Barely seen for most of this summer, a resurgence wouldn't shock me. Luke Littler as will become apparent though is the underlying favourite.
Favourites:
*** Martin Schindler
** Josh Rock, Luke Littler
* Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, Luke Humphries
Mats Leering, Editor for DartsNieuws.com sees Luke Littler as the likely champion.
A very strong field of participants, with top names among both the seeded players and the Pro Tour Qualifiers. Still, I would say Luke Littler is the top favourite. He seems unstoppable at the moment, winning one title after another.
But if I had to name a few players who are currently capable of stopping him, they would mainly be Gerwyn Price, who has a good record against 'The Nuke', and Josh Rock, who is playing very strongly at the moment.
Older players such as James Wade and Gary Anderson are also names to watch out for. If they have a good weekend, they are still capable of giving any top player a run for their money.
I am also keeping a close eye on Belgian/Dutch players such as Mike De Decker, Wessel Nijman and Gian van Veen. De Decker has been throwing well lately and may get that extra boost from the crowd in his home country. Van Veen and Nijman are two great talents and it is only a matter of time before one of them wins their first Euro Tour title, and maybe that will happen this weekend in Antwerp. In addition, Dirk van Duijvenbode could also pull off a surprise.
Favourites:
***Luke Littler
**Gerwyn Price, Josh Rock
*Gian van Veen, Gary Anderson, Mike De Decker
Kieran Wood, Editor for DartsNews.com also picks Littler for the title. The field in Antwerp is very strong, with top seeds and Pro Tour qualifiers all capable of making a deep run. At the moment, Luke Littler looks unstoppable. He’s in fantastic form, and if he keeps up his scoring and rhythm, he will be very difficult to stop.
Luke Humphries, the number one seed, could normally be the biggest challenger, but he hasn’t been at his best recently, which might give Littler a clearer path through the draw. Michael van Gerwen is always a threat—he can beat anyone on his day—but his form has been inconsistent, so it’s hard to predict how far he’ll go.
Among the qualifiers, Josh Rock is throwing very strongly and could easily cause an upset. Gerwyn Price is another player who can turn up in the big moments and make life difficult for anyone. James Wade and Gary Anderson are also worth keeping an eye on; even if they’re not at their peak, they can still give top players a real test over a weekend.
Favourites:
*** Luke Littler
** Gerwyn Price, Josh Rock
* Gian van Veen, Gary Anderson, Mike De Decker, Michael van Gerwen
