Former Lakeside champion Waites will return to Q-School with Van Barneveld win

Scott Waites will undoubtedly watch the clash between Raymond van Barneveld and Lourence Ilagan at the World Darts Championship on Monday evening with his PDC future on the line.

Waites did not qualify for the PDC World Darts Championship is currently in 64th position in the Order of Merit. The two-time Lakeside champion must hold on to this position to keep his PDC Tour Card.

Van Barneveld is currently in 65th place. If Barney manages to win his clash, the Dutchman will go above Waites in the PDC Order of Merit.

That would mean Waites would have to go back to Q-School in January to try and reclaim his Tour Card.

When Van Barneveld loses, Waites is not yet safe. For example, Scotty 2 Hotty can also fall out of the top 64 if Hempel manages to reach the last 32 at the expense of Dimitri van den Bergh.
