France make history by reaching Quarter-Finals of 2023 World Cup of Darts with comprehensive South Africa win

France duo Jacques Labre and Thibault Tricole have made even more history by reaching the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 World Cup of Darts in the opening match of the afternoon session in Frankfurt.

A team that were called upon to be in the tournament by many with the emergence of Tricole and also now Labre being a Tour Card holder, they have proved their worth.

The latest win seeing them defeat South Africa to reach the Quarter-Finals 8-4 as the run of Devon Petersen and Vernon Bouwers now comes to an end.

It was a strong start for the duo as they surged into a 2-0 lead in the race to eight with an early break.

It was nearly a double break but Petersen staved that off on double four at 2-1 down.

But Tricole struck again with a 100 checkout to make it 4-2 to go halfway from the win. Bouwers again nearly gifted a double break but Petersen kept it at 4-3.

But again Tricole sealed daylight at 5-3 on double 19. Two treble visits from Labre saw them head towards two away at 6-3.

Labre initially missed match darts but they returned to seal it 8-4.
