Gerwyn Price showcased his class once again during the quarterfinals of the World Matchplay 2026 by producing the seventh 10-darter of the tournament. The Welshman thus joined a select group of players who have managed to complete a leg in just ten darts. This year’s event continues to stand out for the exceptionally high level on display at the oche.

Price is now the fifth different player to hit a 10-darter at this edition of the World Matchplay. Notably, most of the perfect or near-perfect legs came early in the tournament.
In the first round, Niels Zonneveld made an immediate statement by firing two 10-darters. The Dutchman wrote a special chapter of history, as he remains the only player at this tournament to throw two 10-darters in a single match.
Reigning world champion Luke Littler also displayed his remarkable scoring power. The English sensation posted his first 10-darter in the opening round and added another in the second round. That makes Littler the only player to produce a 10-darter across multiple rounds, a feat that underscores his consistent elite level, with The Nuke even going one better against Nathan Aspinall and pinning a nine-darter.
Alongside Zonneveld, Littler, and Price, both Gary Anderson and Ross Smith also managed to polish off a leg in ten darts. Anderson did so in the opening round as well, while Smith joined the impressive list shortly after. That means five different players are now responsible for a total of seven 10-darters.

Quality of the field

While a nine-darter often grabs the headlines, a 10-darter is likewise an exceptional achievement. Finishing a leg in ten darts demands near-flawless play, with both scoring and finishing at the highest level. The fact that seven such legs have already been thrown says a lot about the quality of the field and the tournament’s spectacular character.

With the semifinals and possibly the final still to come, there is every chance the number of 10-darters will rise further. The remaining players each have the ability to close out a leg at absolute world-class speed.
With his contribution, Gerwyn Price has once again proven that he belongs among the absolute elite of the darts world when it matters most.
