The final day of action is here at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy with two bumper sessions set to decide the champion.
One of the main players to stake his claim will be Michael van Gerwen; who capitalised yesterday on some missed opportunities
by Jose de Sousa to ease through; but his next test will be Nathan Aspinall.
Aspinall produced a blistering 108 average yesterday; he looks a force to be reckoned with. One of the games of the day if both are firing.
Then it is Peter Wright against Mensur Suljovic. Both players eased through their respective ties against
Dyson Parody and Wessel Nijman yesterday en route to the final day.
James Wade and Kim Huybrechts is a big tie in the context of the European Championship. Huybrechts winning means he qualifies but if he loses, the lineup will be confirmed and Ross Smith will make it up.
A blink and you’ll miss it game follows between Dave Chisnall and Jermaine Wattimena. One of the standout ties of the round but again only if they play towards their best.
Speaking of European Championship, Michael Smith after seemingly missing out has brought himself back into confirmed qualification and can now relax. He faces a player he knows very well in Ian White, it’s not only a place in the final session but also bragging rights as a result.
Krzysztof Ratajski faces recent first time winner Joe Cullen after that. Cullen looked good in defeating the dangerous Ritchie Edhouse while Ratajski did the job a
gainst Steve Beaton, a close tie expected.
As are the last two as Glen Durrant who impressed in clawing it back against Chris Dobey last night takes on Daryl Gurney - who only just edged past Carl Wilkinson but is of course capable of the huge performances.
As are Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross to end the session. A brilliant tie in prospect between two of the best in the world - like the other ties if both play well we could be in for a real treat to confirm the Quarter-Final line-up.
