A warm tribute in Belfast for Northern Ireland's darts heroes
Josh Rock and
Daryl Gurney. The successful duo, who made history in June by winning the 2025
World Cup of Darts, were put in the spotlight Monday night during the Northern Ireland-Germany international at Windsor Park.
The two darters made sports history in Frankfurt by defeating Wales in a blood-curdling final to give Northern Ireland its first ever world title in the tournament.
In honor of their success, Rock and Gurney were invited as guests of honor at the national team's World Cup qualifier. At halftime, they entered the field to loud applause from the crowd, holding the coveted World Cup trophy.
The Northern Ireland players surprised the darts duo with an autographed shirt in recognition of their sporting contribution to the country. Although the team later lost 1-0 to Germany, the evening remained a celebratory moment of recognition for Rock and Gurney.
