Andy Hamilton took the time last weekend to answer some questions from fans on Instagram. People asked him for example about the best moments of his career.
The Englishman picked two highlights. ''[Being a] World Championship finalist. [And] probably winning my Tour Card back too'', said Hamilton. Keeping the Tour Card is his goal for this season. And ''keep enjoying the game''.
Hamilton played twice at the BDO World Championship during the period in which he lost his Tour Card, including once at the Lakeside in Frimley Green. ''A dream come true from childhood, but the less said about the performance there the better'', he laughed.
His best match dates back to 2011, according to The Hammer. ''(At) the World Matchplay versus Simon Whitlock. I was 15-8 down and come back to win to win 17-15.''
The Stoke ace also had two advices for ambitious darts players. Firstly to practice the doubles. ''Finishing 81-100 in three darts and 101-170 in six darts. And around the board on doubles to warm up.''
The second advice was about regaining self-confidence in a difficult period. ''Just persevere and believe in yourself. That's the only way to get confident. If you feel you're playing really bad one day, put them down and start fresh again the next day. Practice positivity.''
