Nathan Aspinall is through to the Last 16 at the
German Darts Grand Prix after seeing off Cameron Menzies in a game which was dominated massively by 14 missed darts at doubles from the Scot.
Aspinall admitted post match that he should've taken advantage more but also that he got in his head slightly throughout the tie including actually telling him where he thought he should go for a shot.
"We've all been there haven't we," joked Aspinall on Menzies' nightmare doubling. "Cameron's a great player but if he's got a floor, it is his finishing. So I knew that going into the game."
"He really struggled. I've been there more times than most but I capitalised and I had to do a job up there. I probably should've won that 6-1. But that was my own blase attitude, I thought I won the game and against the top players, you can't do that but yeah happy to get the win."
"He talks all the way through the game, he waffles on and that's just Cammy. He wants to be friends on the oche but he takes it to the extreme. I hit a shot and I stepped back and I didn't know what I needed to do and he turned around in my ear and went hit a big five and I think I did. He got in my head for nine darts."
