Hendriks sends home Hughes in grueling tie at PDC World Darts Championship

In a grueling encounter, Jimmy Hendriks prevailed in his PDC World Darts Championship debut against Jamie Hughes in a 3-1 sets win.

Hendriks and Hughes missed 56 darts at doubles throughout the tie showing the edginess of the tie but he is now through to face Brendan Dolan.

Hendriks missed multiple darts for the set and despite missing 18 in the first, Hughes prevailed narrowly in the decider. Hughes missed double 13 for a hold to begin set two and Hendriks hit double eight for 1-0 and he went on to win the set on double four with a 72 checkout.

Hughes hit two 180’s but still handed Hendriks the chance to hold which he didn’t take and ‘Yozza’ made it 1-0. But Hendriks responded with a 58 checkout.

Hughes missed 108 for the set and Hendriks returned for double four to go one away. Hughes began a pivotal set holding on double eight. A superb 104 checkout on two double 20’s saw Hendriks go one away before sealing the win.
