“He’s going to dominate, we’re all in trouble now” - Aspinall full of praise for Smith after Grand Slam final defeat

Nathan Aspinall lost out 16-5 to Michael Smith in the final of the Grand Slam of Darts but despite a major falling by the wayside, he was proud of his efforts and even more so of his good friend Smith saying if he was to lose to anyone, it would be ‘Bully Boy’.

“I’m really proud obviously where I came from in January, two major finals in three tournaments but I hope I’m not going to go his trend,” joked Aspinall to Sky Sports.

“But honestly I love Michael to bits, I’m so proud of him. He’s been beaten in all these finals and then you see the stuff that is said about him. It’s hard to get over the line and he’s done it. He’s going to dominate and I’m really sorry to the rest of the Tour Card holders but we’re all in trouble now as he’s won his first major. If I’m going to lose to anyone, I’m glad it’s Michael.”
