Dragutin Horvat on Saturday progressed into the last 32 of the German Darts Grand Prix with a 6-4 win over Scott Waites.
Last year Hercules stood on stage in this PDC European Tour tournament as well and had Scott Waites as opponent then as well. In 2022 Horvat lost 6-4 to 'Scotty 2 Hotty'.
"The draw scared me a little bit. The same place, the same opponent. But thank God the result is the other way around," said a relieved "Brazzo" in the interview afterwards.
In the run-up, the German posted on social media: "Egg hunt in Munich". This referred not only to Easter, but also to his problems in bringing his game to the stage. "I have to say I'm very excited, still," Horvat explained after his win. "I've rarely been as excited as I was today. It's full house, great crowd, super support!"
Finally, there was something on Horvat's mind that he was keen to share: "I would especially like to thank my family, who are all here for the very first time. Usually there were always individuals, but this time they are completely there. Thank you so much, I love you!"
