Humphries on incredible Rodriguez final at European Darts Matchplay: “That’s probably my greatest win ever”

Luke Humphries sealed a third consecutive and fourth overall European Tour title of the season at the European Darts Matchplay.

Establishing himself as the dominant force, he saw off Rowby-John Rodriguez 8-7 in one of the greatest finals seen all year and a win he called his greatest ever.

“I’m over the moon, but credit goes to Rowby-John. He was fantastic. He threw absolutely everything at me,” said Humphries.

“When you make your first final, it’s not supposed to be as easy as that, and he made it look easy.

“18 months ago I’d have probably lost that 8-2 or 8-3, but I never give up. That’s probably my greatest win ever.”
