The 11th day of play of the Premier League Darts 2025 was completed Thursday night in Ahoy Rotterdam. The weekly title went to Chris Dobey, who beat Stephen Bunting 6-2 in the final. For Dobey, it was his second final this year, the first to finish victoriously. One noticed guest in the audience was
Dirk van Duijvenbode, who unintentionally even came up with news.
Van Duijvenbode appeared in front of the Viaplay camera during one of the breaks. "Everything okay at home, and with the little one?", presenter Koert Westerman asked. "Yes, and number two is on the way huh," Van Duijvenbode said. "Are you serious? Congratulations man," Westerman responded.
"I wasn't actually going to tell you that at all, by the way," Van Duijvenbode said. "But it's true," he laughed. "Other than that, I'm also doing well, by the way. The shoulder injury I suffered from for a long period of time, I don't really feel much, if at all, anymore. It's all strong and my level is also going up, so I'm happy."
Van Barneveld
Van Duijvenbode, the world number 31, was dressed in a Raymond van Barneveld shirt for the occasion. The 32-year-old Dutchman attends Ahoy every year and visibly enjoyed the atmosphere in the venue. "First of all: it's very close," said the Katwijk aan Zee resident. "And my mate likes it a lot. I like it myself, but you get more and more the idea that you want to be there yourself. That's starting to change now."
Remarkably, Van Duijvenbode appeared without earrings in Ahoy. Although that was only an appearance, after all, he had hidden them because he wears a turban in the audience. "Then I'm kind of undercover," he laughed.
Although Van Duijvenbode did not stay completely undercover, he still had to have his picture taken with several fans.
