Gian van Veen gives a thumbs up to the crowd.
Gian van Veen has shared an update amid his recent issue with kidney stones which took him out of the Premier League in Dublin last week as well as the Belgian Darts Open.
Van Veen shared images over the weekend of himself in hospital as he recovered but he is back on the practice board sharing clips of him back in practice hitting 180's.
As well as the clip on Instagram, he shared a paragraph about how he is currently doing and while some perhaps would give up on the notion of playing for at least another week in the Premier League, Van Veen is using it as a driving factor.
He said that Berlin is the aim which will be played on Thursday and albeit while it isn't as far as coming from the UK, Van Veen no doubt will need to make a decision soon in regards to whether he will play likely over the next day before he travels to Berlin and likely won't be back on the oche yet unless he is 100%. He gave an update that he was looking to build up over the past day on Vincent van der Voort's Darts Draait Door podcast too.

Van Veen shares goal behind quick return to oche

It is presumed too that he will likely miss ProTour action next week on 30th/31st and will aim for a bigger return on Easter weekend in Munich. But for now he is aiming for Berlin and is sticking to that goal.
"Following the surgery to remove my kidney stones, recovery has been a process that requires patience. Unfortunately, that is something that does not come easy when all you want to do is compete in this packed schedule. However, the fatigue is real.
"My energy levels are still lower than I hoped and every day I have to be smart about how I use it. But where my body allows it, I am on the board. Practicing, working and rebuilding on getting back to where I want to be.These clips are a small glimpse of that process. It is not where I want to be yet, but it is progress and right now progress is everything.

Gian van Veen aims for swift return.
"Berlin is the goal. Walking out onto that Premier League stage and making my comeback at the oche is what is driving me through every session, every day. I am doing everything to be there this Thursday. However, I need to listen to my body and not rush into any decisions. As important as the Premier League is, my health is more important.
"The will is there. The motivation has definitely never left. Now it is about making sure everything aligns in time.Berlin, I hope to see you on Thursday."
