Nathan Aspinall has been through a torrid time with his throw in particular continuing to break down after injuries but he has as he always does stayed resolute and not given up. He will play in the Quarter-Finals of the UK Open on Sunday and is dreaming of more major glory.
Aspinall spoke after seeing off William O'Connor late and said that he is finding the love for darts again and that he has gone from being down in the dumps to being revived due to the Premier League in part.

"It's been a pretty rubbish couple of years for myself. But listen I'm back enjoying it. I said this when I got invited to the Premier League, it will bring me back and that's what it is doing. I'm finding my love again for the game, I'm a fan's favourite. I love the fans and they're the ones that keep me going. Even when I was down in the dumps," said Aspinall.
"I'm working very hard behind the scenes with a couple of people and for me my biggest problem is confidence. It's now coming back. It's so hard this game when you're not playing well."
He will likely return to the top 10 in short order but he joked that he just wants to be above best mate, Chris Dobey. Albeit it could also solve ranking woes with the World Matchplay being a huge question mark in even qualifying.
"I didn't even know about that I just want to get above Dobey," he laughed. "I don't care about the top 10."
"I know what I've got to do, I've got the Matchplay in July. I've not looked at the rankings, I looked at the start of the year. I knew what I had to do. Go win this title and it's job done."
"One big day tomorrow (Sunday) and my next two years are sorted."
One player he praised too was Michael van Gerwen what could be a turning point after beating him at the World Masters. He said that MVG is in a different league to Littler and Humphries.
"I don't see the other two as Van Gerwen to me, he's the GOAT to me. He always will be in my opinion. I'm just enjoying the game, one result can turn a season around and fingers crossed that's what happened the other week when I beat Michael."
But in winning the title it would mean a lot admits Aspinall who said it would be more emotion than elation given what he has been through. "It would mean a hell of a lot. It'll never top the Matchplay but with what I've gone through and how I've been feeling. There would be a hell of a lot of emotion."
