Peter Wright needs a miracle to still qualify for the
Premier League Darts playoffs, but 'Snakebite' refuses to raise the white flag just yet.
After eight of 16 rounds of play, Wright is adrift of his rivals, last in the league standings with only two points and with just a single win under his belt this campaign. His deficit to the top four is currently already a massive 11 points.
The Scot will take on Rob Cross on Thursday night in Belfast. ''My game is coming back, slowly,'' stated the two-time world champion. ''I am doing well in the Players Championship events, I started well on the European Tour, so hopefully I can transfer that into the Premier League games."
However, the current number eight in the world rankings realizes that a tough task awaits him to still make the playoffs. ''I need to start winning,'' Wright acknowledged. "I could do with winning three nights on the bounce - that would put me in contention I think. In the practice room my form is there, so if I can take that up on stage, then I don’t see why it’s not possible?!”
