Nathan Aspinall has warned the nearest rivals of Luke Littler to get their money and get out before the next generation of darting stars inspired by him come through.
Despite getting criticised throughout their game for giving him too much respect, Aspinall spoke to talkSPORT lauding the impact of his stablemate saying that he can't see him stopping and that all of his rivals better watch out.
He became the youngest ever World Champion last year easing past Michael van Gerwen at Ally Pally and has got a whole new generation into darts and it is that new generation that has got players like Aspinall wanting a quick exit when they can get the money they need.
Aspinall of course is the ultimate rags to riches darts story with The Asp going from being penniless to being one of the best darting stars in the world and Littler has done that overnight in a dream that as a young prodigy himself, Aspinall would've wanted early on in his darting rise.
“I can’t see him stopping to be honest with you. I’m probably one of his better mates on the tour," said Aspinall to talkSPORT over the past week.
“Before the world’s last year when he made the final he was at my house practising so I’m quite close to Luke. I know what he can do on the oche and I just can’t see him letting up.
“He’s the world and Premier League champion at 17. He doesn’t feel nerves or pressure. I just wish I was as good as him because he’s very good."
“What Luke Littler’s done is unbelievable. Not just for us but the younger generation. I just need to make my money and get out because in five years there’s going to be so many kids hammering us. But it’s amazing.”
