“I won this title through fighting and never giving up” - Noppert after superb comeback to seal Players Championship 19

Danny Noppert came from 6-3 down to surge to victory at Players Championship 19 in Barnsley denying Andrew Gilding a maiden title as a result.
Despite being the UK Open champion, he hasn’t won a ProTour since 2018 and he said it was the battling qualities that brought him through.

"It's a long time ago since I last won a Players Championship title," said Noppert.
"I won this title through fighting and never giving up, if you believe in something then you can achieve it.
"I am a happy man to finally have my moment on the floor. There are 128 fantastic players here so to win this means a lot.
"Now, I am looking forward to all the tournaments coming up."

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
