Gerwyn Price once again fell at the final hurdle during the final of the
US Darts Masters with Rob Cross accounting for him in an 8-7 win. Statistically Price has been one of the best players in the world this season, but he can't get the rub of the green.
Price lamented a missed chance against Cross during the 2024 US Darts Masters and said though that he needs a win which will see his confidence flow. Something that a final appearance gives him partly but not like a title would. 'The Iceman' will hope to do so next week at the Nordic Darts Masters.
Fresh from a great run, he will hope that his title form flows before a pivotal juncture of the season. This will see the World Matchplay on the horizon and a period of the year in which Price will want to peak. But the good signs are there at least for now despite defeat.
“I’m just struggling to get over the winning line,” conceded Price. "I just want to get a win under my belt and get my confidence back, but fair play to Rob, he dug deep at the end.
“As much as I want to win, I’ve really enjoyed this weekend and I feel like a win is just around the corner for me.”
