INTERVIEW - Woodhouse reflects on form since PDC World Championship breakthrough: "It's been fairly frustrating but I've been putting in some good performances"

Luke Woodhouse put in some breakthrough performances at the 2020 PDC World Championship reaching the Last 32 after also reaching the same point at the Players Championship Finals claiming some good wins there.

Woodhouse sat down with DartsNews.com amid the current break from play and spoke about his experience at the Alexandra Palace; as well as his form since then.

"Looking back the World's was a fantastic experience for me, it all happened so fast to be honest but was one of the best experiences of my life," said Woodhouse to DartsNews.com.

"I suppose after the World's the expectations I had for myself were quite big so I guess it's been fairly frustrating but I've been putting in some good performances without too much reward so I have to keep faith."

Thoughts on time off due to Coronavirus

The player known as Woody had a run to the Quarter-Finals at a recent Players Championship but of course now faces a long time away from the dart board after the suspension of play for April due to Coronavirus.

"It was good to have a run at Players Championship 8 and finally put together a few good performances - It is what it is with this situation and I can only do what we are advised to do," continued the Bewdley thrower.

"It looks like we're going to have at least the next month off so I will be putting practise in on the board ready for when we get the email to say tournaments are starting up again."

As a result of the virus though, it could mean that there will be multiple tournaments in quick succession and Woodhouse spoke on the potential of that occurring.

"Possibly I try not to overthink playing to much but having tournaments in quick succession can sometimes be a benefit if you can find abit of good form"

Ambitions

Woodhouse finally spoke on his ambitions for the rest of the year when he does return to the oche and it is firmly to continue his rise into the rest of 2020.

"My main ambition is just to keep competing with the top players in the world and if I can put in good performances then I'm sure the results will follow"
