Mitchell Lawrie will be part of the line-up of 24 'amateur' players who will battle for the prize of £501,000 on offer in Beat
Luke Littler, which is due to take place on October 30 live on Netflix.
Fallon Sherrock is also involved with the
trailer recently being revealed.
The 15-year-old who hails from Renfrew is seen as the next darting talent, perhaps to even rival the great darting superstar who himself is only 19. He will be eligible to play PDC Q-School in January, and technically the rules state that it is amateur players, so those who have not held or don't hold a PDC Tour Card.
Lawrie hasn't been eligible to hold one yet even though he reached the WDF final and has hoovered up titles for fun both on the WDF circuit and also in the JDC with massive averages, and perhaps it could be a real glimpse into the future of getting the darting sensation facing the current king of the sport.
The two-time World Youth Champion in the WDF and current World Number One will be at Manchester Central for the live special, and he has one chance, and one perfect leg of 501 is required.
Mitchell Lawrie will face Luke Littler.
He had match darts to beat Luke Littler in their only meeting before going down 3-2 and believes that he can win through against the darting superstar. “I think I can be great. I think I can go on to be one of the best this sport has ever seen," he said as per
The Scottish Sun.
“I believe I can do it, but I just need to go out there and show the world what I’ve got.
“I’ve played him [Luke Littler] once before – he beat me 3-2, and I missed match darts to beat him. I know what he’s capable of – he’s the best darts player in the world for a reason.”
Sherrock also leads the way
Fallon Sherrock is also involved with the 32-year-old from Milton Keynes who famously became the first woman to win on the Ally Pally stage and has become a real feature not only at Ally Pally every year but also on the Women's Series, which will also get her chance as one of the big-name contestants.
Others include Bhav Patel, who has previously played at the PDC World Darts Championship, and Jasper Scarrott, who is a British Army captain and became the first Army Darts Championship champion. But he has also hit a nine-darter on the MODUS Super Series and played on the Challenge Tour.
Jayden Walker, who became the youngest-ever winner of a senior WDF ranking title just recently at the age of 14, taking Luke Littler's record, will look to take his latest scalp. Katie Sheldon, who has played at the Women's World Matchplay, is also involved, as is David Wawrzewski, who is a familiar name, having played at Q-School and on the Challenge Tour for a long time. As is Ashley Coleman who has regularly played on the MODUS Super Series and Challenge Tour and came to prominence as part of The Darts Referee's YouTube channel.
Apart from that there are Nando's restaurant managers, electrical engineers, jockeys, university students and bank business advisors as well as players from Australia, Wales and France.
