James Richardson set to join son Josh at 2023 UK Open in Minehead after winning Riley's Qualifier in Chester

An interesting story has developed from the UK Open Qualifier which took place at Riley's in Chester on Saturday with James Richardson, a familiar face booking his spot.

But there is the potential that he could face his son, Josh in the opening round in Minehead.

'Ruthless' saw off a duo of Welshman in the latter stages in Llew Bevan and Michael Warburton to seal his spot with a 5-3 win in the final.

His son Josh who can't play Development Tour this year due to being 24 in his final year won his final ever event on the secondary tour and sealed his spot as a result through the players without a Tour Card for the UK Open. So an interesting story could yet develop.
