Joe Cullen took to Twitter to hit back at claims made by an opponent during Players Championship 14.
The Rockstar reached the quarter-finals in Wednesday's Pro Tour event. Wins against Adrian Gray, Niels Zonneveld and Vincent van der Meer took him through to the last 16. There, Cullen beat Simon Whitlock 6-4 in a close match. His Players Championship 14 run . The Bullet ran out a 6-3 winner in Barnsley. It appears that the Bradford thrower had a disagreement with one of his opponents. A surprising social media rebuke got to the heart of the issue. "I've been playing professional darts for the best part of 10 years," Cullen started. "Dedicated my life to it, missed birthdays, special occasions and god knows what else. "So to be called a CHEAT, when I've done nothing wrong, is an absolute insult!! He added: "And worst of all, from a so-called mate."
Confusion
Cullen's remarks were out of the blue, and sparked Twitter conjecture.
Some believed Whitlock to be the source of the accusation, while others pointed the finger at Bunting.
His fellow professionals chose to leap to the 29-year-old's defence.
"Absolute Gentleman," said fellow PDC Tour Card holder Glen Durrant.
Matthew Edgar added: "Played you 3 thousand times win or lose never had an ounce of an issue"
"You can't be a cheat mate coz I always smash ya and it don't take alot to beat me," was Arron Monk's take.
With Cullen unlikely to reveal who his spat was with, darts fans will be left to continue the online debate.
