Kim Huybrechts may soon have to return to the DRA list after a heated exchange with
James Hurrell was caught on the streaming boards
during Players Championship 25.
Huybrechts was left fuming at the end refusing to shake his opponent's hand on the oche after he was defeated by 'Hillbilly'. Hurrell won 6-5 seeing off Huybrechts by taking out 67 in the deciding leg pinning double 20. He punched the air shouting come on, but in reality this inflamed the Belgian.
Huybrechts stared back at him sternly and Hurrell put out his hand waiting for a handshake. Huybrechts walked straight past the handshake saying: "You can f*** right off, you f****** w*****."
They then shook the referee's hand and walked back to the table with Hurrell saying something which wasn't caught on the live microphone. The tense conversation continued with Huybrechts left frustrated by the conduct of Hurrell.
Hurrell history of needle
Hurrell appeared to be wound up and looked angry as he walked off. Huybrechts seemed to not want to let it go either and he could yet face a fine for this matter. Hurrell also though has a potted history of this. Earlier this year at the UK Open, he was involved in a heated argument with Charlie Manby.
Manby had to be dragged away as the pair squared up to each other. He also previously didn't shake Sebastian Bialecki's hand so is very much not one for shying away from needle.
But neither is Huybrechts so bringing them together is certainly a storm in a teacup waiting to happen. Henry Coates went on to be the surprise winner and won the title defeating Damon Heta in the final.
