Krzysztof Ratajski has survived a real battle with Asian Tour leader Alexis Toylo this Monday afternoon at the Alexandra Palace, eventually prevailing 3-1 to book his spot in the third round against Kevin Doets.

Although the scoreline looks relatively comfortable at 3-1, in truth the contest was anything but a breeze for Ratajski as in leg play the Pole actually only manage to claim four more legs than his opponent and actually averaging less.

In a tense opening set, things eventually went the way of Ratajski thanks to a key break of throw. Over the next two sets though, there were no more breaks of throw, just going to prove how closely matched the pair were.

Finally though, with the finish line nearing and tension levels rising, Ratajski managed to get another break of throw against Toylo, taking control of set 4 in the process and eventually pinning double 18 for a very hard fought victory.

As mentioned, rather than the expected showdown with Michael Smith in the third round, Dutchman Kevin Doets now lies in wait for Ratajski with the Pole potentially sensing the opportunity for a good run at this World Darts Championship.
