Darius Labanauskas is successfully through to the Last 16 at the 2020 PDC World Championship after defeating Max Hopp in a 4-2 win.

It was a match that saw the duo exchange sets between them till towards the end when Labanauskas claimed the initiative but nearly fluffed his lines, he was given ample opportunity though to see the match off and he did to reach the latter stages for the first time.
Hopp performed well in the first set wrapping it up quite comfortably 3-1 with a 94.6 average in a match which many could say could go either way.
Labanauskas broke to start the next set and the rest of the set of sorts were breaks of throw as it went to 2-1 to the Lithuanian and he closed out the set from there 3-1 to restore parity and make it 1-1 in sets.
The German Number One though returned to the foray as he took out 114 to win the third set 3-1 to regain the upper-hand over Labanauskas. It continued to go back and forth between the duo as it was locked in at 2-2 with the latter winning the set again 3-1.
The Lithuanian began to take control as he won six out of the last seven legs to hit the front and go on the verge of going through. A break of throw began the next set as he fired in a 180, 177 and finally double eight and he went one away from there to run away with it potentially.
Labanauskas missed double 64 for the win initially and he fluffed his lines again allowing Hopp to break and send it further again. Hopp in the next leg hit 180 to leave 41, Labanauskas left 60 which he hit to claim victory.
