The line-up has been confirmed for the 2025 Premier League Darts which will start on February 6 in Belfast and sees Luke Littler as the defending champion.
The top four was set leaving only four spots left. Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries and Rob Cross had already booked their spot as part of the top four who qualify by right automatically as well as Littler who is World Champion and defending Premier League champion.
But the conundrum throughout the World Darts Championship would be who would join them, that is now confirmed.
There was clamour surrounding this year's line-up in particular with many of the top names not performing. Michael Smith and Peter Wright in particular were big question marks.
They have both been replaced in this year's line-up by two former players in the format in Stephen Bunting who is a known quantity and fans' favourite becoming one of the true cult heroes of PDC Darts as well as winning The Masters at the turn of the year.
While Chris Dobey makes his return after a year out. Gerwyn Price despite. a poor year showed glimmers still at the World Darts Championship and remains in while Nathan Aspinall recorded back-to-back fifth placed finishes in the Premier League and is perhaps the only other player that doubt can be placed on.
“We are really excited by this year's line-up, which I'm sure will entertain our incredible crowds across the UK and Europe,” said PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter.
"The BetMGM Premier League will reach a huge live audience across the next four months, following record-breaking ticket sales for the 2025 season.
“All eight players have pedigree on the biggest stage, and fresh from some brilliant performances at the World Darts Championship we’re looking forward to 17 brilliant weeks of competition.”
